Operational steps

  • 1 Pumpkins are washed, peeled and cut into small pieces, steamed in a pot until soft and rotten, then mashed into mud while hot (I use small golden melon, which feels very sweet, without sugar, if it is a common pumpkin, you can add some sugar).

  • 2 Add glutinous rice flour into pumpkin paste, mix with chopsticks to form snowflakes, and knead into smooth dough.

  • 3 Divide the dough into equal-sized ingredients. Each ingredient is rolled into a ball and pressed into a cake shape.

  • 4 Wrap in the bean paste filling, then press into a cake shape, put in white sesame and stick white sesame on both sides.

  • 5 The pan is evenly brushed with a thin layer of oil, and the pumpkin cake is fried on both sides of the pan.

Tips

1. Pumpkin should be mashed into mud while it is hot after steaming, which is more delicate and even.
2. Add glutinous rice flour and knead it until it is not sticky. If it is too dry, it will not stick sesame.
