Self-made sweet and sour carambola preserve

The first two big carambola trees in front of our house have fruits in almost all seasons of the year. But carambola is not sweet or sour. Every day we see it falling all over the ground is wasteful. So when we have time, we try to make carambola preserves by ourselves. Sour, sweet and sour with a little salty taste. Its really good to preserve.~

Food Material List

  • 1 Carambola (as you like)
  • 2 salt Appropriate amount
  • 3 Sugar Appropriate amount

Operational steps

  • 1 Wash the carambola first. ~The carambola that you grow is not very beautiful. (Better not to ripen the carambola too well. ~Because the cured carambola will ripen.

  • 2 Cut the carambola into five-pointed star shapes like this ~dont cut it too thin ~ (look at yourself) because the carambola will be much smaller after sunshine ~then the picture is stirred with salt evenly ~then put it in the refrigerator for about one night.~

  • 3 After salting, pour out the water and hold the basket to control the water for a few minutes before proceeding to the next step.~

  • 4 Then you can lay a layer of white sugar and a layer of carambola ~put more sugar on the top ~wrap up a fresh-keeping film and put it in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days ~ (depending on the sweetness of your hobby, you cant put it too long.)

  • 5 Carambola pickled with sugar can be dried in the sun ~occasionally turn over in half an hour ~I dont like too dry carambola ~so its basically only dried for about three hours ~the juice just dries.~
